Kids and Parents Love Awana! Why do hundreds of thousands of kids attend Awana Clubs every week? Awana is fun! That’s the bottom line for most kids. Of course, they’re learning and growing while they’re having fun.

The goal of the AWANA club "Reaching boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him"

When Is it?

6:30 to 8:30 pm,
September Thru May
(during school season)

What do kids learn?

Kids learn the Bible through dynamic teaching and memorization of Bible verses, with an emphasis on understanding and applying God's Word each week.  With small group interaction, high-energy games, and deepening friendships, kids have a blast!

Who can participate?

Children 3 years old before September 1st through the 6th grade can participate. (Children need to be potty trained to participate in Awana Clubs)

Awana Club meetings are brimming with life-enriching experiences for young people! Trained leaders guide children through age-appropriate material. Clubbers learn that God is real, that He loves them, and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. They also learn how to apply the truths of the Bible to their daily lives. In a world desperate for high standards of morality and ethics, Awana uses the Bible to teach children to honor God.
Every AWANA Club Meeting Includes These Parts-
  • Game Time: Every Awana Club meeting includes a high-energy Game Time featuring individual and team competition. Game Time unleashes kids’ natural energy and enthusiasm. The Awana Game Circle has a special appeal. Kids everywhere love Awana Games! Everyone participates.
  • Book Time: Using achievement-oriented curriculum materials, Awana emphasizes memorization and understanding of Key Bible verses. With a trained leader alongside to encourage and guide, clubbers develop a Bible-based view of how to know and serve God.
  • Devotion Time: Leaders (sometimes special speakers like missionaries) use this time to teach a short lesson from the Bible or from their personal experience, always with a Biblical message to encourage the kids.
  • Awards Time: The whole club meets for an Awards presentation at the end of every Awana meeting, during which Clubbers are rewarded for achievements they have earned for progress in their individual handbooks.
While each club is different and designed specifically for the age group, the message and values are the same. We teach who Jesus is (God's Son), what he has done for us (died on the cross), how we can have eternal life (faith in Jesus Christ), and what we must do (submit and serve Him). Awana’s primary focus is to teach kids to hide God’s Word in their hearts, and to use God's Word to share the Gospel.
Kids can register and Join Harbor Baptist AWANA Clubs at any time.
