New to Harbor Baptist?
Visiting any church, for the very first time can be a tough experience. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Harbor Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience spiritual music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home"! Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit. When are your services? Our main worship service is Sunday morning at 11:00 AM. Our Sunday evening service is at 6:00 PM and our mid-week Bible study is on Wednesday at 7:30 PM. Sunday 11:00 AM Morning Worship Service 10:00 AM Classes for All Ages 6:00 PM Evening Service Wednesday 7:00 PM Wednesday Bible Study What can I expect on my first visit? You will be warmly greeted and a friendly staff member will direct you to the right classes and services. They can also answer other questions you may have. Most adults will attend the worship service where they enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of the choir, orchestra, ensembles, and soloists. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor . This service is a little over one hour in length. Where do I take my children? Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for every age child. At every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children three years old and under. For the infants, mothers will receive a pager so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need. For children four years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child. Our campus has a lot of buildings, which to a guest can seem overwhelming at first. It's not as complicated as it looks, and we would like to help you find the appropriate nurseries, classes, and services for every person in your family. Our greeters and ushers are located around campus as well as in the lobby of the main worship center and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place. What about my teens? Our student ministries are broken down into three main divisions: junior high, senior high, and college. Within each of these divisions, there are several classes, which are listed under the "Teens" menu above. Most of the teens attend a class for one hour and then a worship service another hour with their parents. How should I dress? There is not a dress code at Harbor Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Harbor Baptist! Who is Pastor Prather? C.J. Prather l has been the Pastor of Harbor Baptist Church since 2003. He has been married for over 40 years. He has two sons, one daughter, and six grandchildren. Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering? No. We don't invite you to Harbor Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest. Other questions? If there's something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive.
